Kirk E. Karamanian, Esq.

Kirk is a cum laude graduate of the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law, where he was also a member of the Justice Frank Murphy Honor Society. He is a Proctor in Admiralty, and his practice is devoted almost exclusively to representation of crew members in maritime personal injury matters, longshoremen, and civilian contractors injured overseas covered by the Defense Base Act.

He graduated from Michigan State University in 1991, and the University of Detroit-Mercy School of Law in 1994. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar in his band Vavoom.

Kirk is a member of the American Bar Association, Maritime Law Association of the United States, (Proctor member), American Association for Justice, and Michigan Association for Justice.  He is also a member of the DOL-Joint Bar Association where he serves on the Board of Governors, and is currently the acting Secretary of the Association. Kirk has been an invited lecturer by the U.S. Department of Labor, the University of Texas School of Law, Loyola University New Orleans, the Workers’ Injury Law and Advocacy Group, and the DOL-Joint Bar Association on topics pertaining to maritime law and the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act and its extensions.
